 REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE:

HB 1189 – Hill, M   SB 1180 – Hensley      PRIORITY BILL – OPPOSE

The “Tennessee Infants Protection Act,” which prohibits abortion of a viable fetus except in a medical emergency and requires testing to determine viability if a woman is at least 20 weeks pregnant. – Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 15, Part 2.

This is the only bill the Anti-Choice group (often referred to as the Right to Life) will be supporting.   This will require work to defeat.  Can be seen as an alternative to the Twenty Week bill by Rep. Weaver.

This bill was rolled again until March 28 Health Committee Meeting.  This will also coincide  with   the Anti-Choice  Day on the Hill.   An amendment was to be filed to clear up some “confusion” over the language of professional connect physicians.    This maybe filed tomorrow ahead of the committee meeting Tuesday morning.
