Members gathered at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis’ conference center to hear from leadership of the Tennessee General Assembly. Participating in the panel discussion were House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick, House Minority Leader Craig Fitzhugh, Republican Caucus Chair Debra Maggart and Democratic Caucus Chair Mike Turner.
On January 18, 2011, the WPC honored Nashville legislator Beth Harwell to celebrate her historic election as the first female Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Our organization’s goals include encouraging students to become actively involved in the political process through discussions with community leaders and public servants, and developing and strengthening the relationship between the WPC and Metro Nashville Public School students.
